A signed Portrait Agreement is required for all sessions. It is a written document outlining the laws, requirements, and other essential information necessary for a successful session.
COMMUNICATION
Upon receipt of the signed and approved Portrait Agreement and payment of the session fee, the contract is binding for all parties, and all changes must be agreed upon in writing. As such, all parties agree to fully cooperate and communicate effectively. It is the responsibility of the client to assure that all subjects to be photographed are in attendance and cooperative.
COPYRIGHT & IMAGE USAGE
By signing the contract agreement, the client states that s/he understands the copyright laws and image usage policies, and agrees to abide by them. In brief, the client agrees to use only the images approved for website use on their blogs, websites, and social networking pages, and the client will leave them as they are, including the photographer’s watermark. All other prints, digital images, videos, etc. are copyrighted solely to the photographer and the client is not at liberty to use the works in any manner whatsoever without the express written permission of the photographer.
OTHER POLICIES
Among other matters, cancellation policies, payment policies, etc. are also outlined in the full Portrait Agreement.
REQUIRED FOR EVERYONE
Whether you are a family member, close friend or a stranger off the street, I require a signed Agreement. This is a protection for you as well as myself, the the photographer. It also helps to define our business relationship regardless of our personal relationship.
